City Reflections: Celebrate Southampton’s Heroes

This February half-term, The Esplanade will transform into a canvas of light and sound as City Reflections brings Southampton’s inspiring community legends to life.

Created by Southampton Forward and proudly sponsored by Westquay, this impressive projection show will illuminate our city’s everyday heroes—350 individuals who make Southampton extraordinary.

Representing the Heart of Southampton Each legend was nominated by Southampton residents during last year’s campaign, showcasing the kindness, passion, and resilience that shape our city.

Stories of Volunteers, teachers, healthcare heroes, and local champions will shine in an inspiring 10-minute light show that loops nightly from 6 pm to 9 pm from February 14th to 23rd, 2025.

Key Information 🗓️ Dates: 14th to 23rd February 2025. 📍 Location: The Esplanade. ⏰ Time & Duration: 6-9 pm. Each show lasts 10 minutes. City Reflections is a free community experience everyone can enjoy. No prior booking is required.

As an open-air installation, it’s weather-dependent—so wrap up warm and be prepared for the elements. Rain or shine, this awe-inspiring display will remind us that Southampton’s true magic is its people.

Alongside The Esplanade’s spectacular display, additional light shows will take place in other key community locations.
